Getsy Aredo

Getsy is a first-generation college graduate who earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Texas Woman's University. She initially pursued nursing before discovering her passion for empowering vulnerable communities and creating meaningful change. Before joining VMYDF, she worked as a Resident Coordinator in both apartment and senior living communities.

Getsy is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people. She is actively involved with her local Sunday School, where she enjoys mentoring youth. Having benefited from after-school programs and supportive mentors during elementary school, she understands the value of positive guidance and hopes to help provide continued support for youth as they grow and develop.
