School-Year Internship

The Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation AmeriCorps Member serves to support our youth programs which promote college readiness and creating independent learners while exposing teens to colleges, careers, and cultural diversity. Three members will be recruited for our programs that occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursday evenings.

Internship Overview

Mondays and Wednesdays

VMYDF’s enrichment programs bring together a multicultural community of middle and high school students who are exploring their strengths, passions, and possibilities for the future. We engage students in various STEM projects, exposure to different cultures, and help chart their journey to college, ensuring that each student leaves each session with tools that prepare them for the world beyond the classroom.

Thursdays

The EAGLE Scholars program is designed to help our Scholars develop the skills they already have and acquire the ones they need in order to help them successfully navigate the educational system. We engage students from middle school through college in experiential learning and expose them to new thoughts and ideas in order for them to internalize the notion that they are college material and can begin working toward their goals and dreams.

  • School-Year Internship begins September 15, 2025 and ends May 16, 2026.

Interns commit to 13 hours per week. Hours vary, but are mostly Monday through Thursday between 3:00 - 8:30 pm and on Saturdays from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.

The program operates as an in person program. Interns are employed through the Equal Heart program, which works in conjunction with VMYDF youth programs. Interns must meet Equal Heart qualifications and training requirements in order to serve with VMYDF.
